Copenhagen City Break Deals

Flights leaving on a Friday, coming back on Monday in January go for £26 return with Ryan Air (look out for sales as well. Sometimes prices can be as low as £9.99 or less one way!)
Yes, you’ll have to wrap up seriously warm (average January temperatures reach -1 degrees) but experiencing Scandinavia in the snow if half the fun, right? Money saving suggestion would be to wear all of your warm weather gear on the plane so you can get away with just taking hand luggage.
With accommodation in central Copenhagen you can stay at the stylish and luxurious 4 star Ascot Hotel. An absolute bargain at £270 for three nights based on two sharing so £135 each if you are splitting the bill. Or a central Airbnb for upwards of £50 per night.
Breakfast isn’t included at this hotel or most Airbnbs but all the more excuse to go and sample the city’s trendy eateries.
The Laundromat café has two locations in Copenhagen and offers a menu which is great value for money. It’s fun, has an arty feel and yes, you can even do your laundry while there (although with carry on we will assume you bought enough pants to last you!)
You can get a very full “Dirty Brunch” for around £16. This may sound a lot for brunch but you won’t need separate brekkie and lunch as it includes a cooked breakfast, granola with yoghurt and berries, pancakes, fresh fruit and chocolate butter! If you are on a tighter budget or not quite that hungry they do beautiful pancakes for around £6 and their lunch menus (burgers, fries and the like) comes in at around £15.

Paris
27th-30th March (Flights and 3 nights 4* accommodation £211 or £236 per person)
Enjoy Paris this spring with this city break in March (so good they even wrote a song about it Paris in the Spring). With flights taking just an hour from London you can escape with Vueling Airlines for £76 return.
With temperatures sometimes rising to 15 degrees you may be lucky enough to get some t-shirt weather so you can stroll through the beautiful gardens of the city for free. Not to be missed when visiting the Latin quarter is the Jardin de Plantes. Created by Louis XIII nearly 400 years ago, it is France’s main botanical garden, situated in the 5th Arrondissement.
Accommodation wise The Novotel Suites is a 4* slick look bargain at £270 for two for 3 nights so £135 each. This is a great area for those wanting to visit monuments and museums and is near great transport links. Around 30 minutes travel to central Paris and 1 hour the Eiffel Tour.
Located in the artistic Montmartre district Best Western The Playce by Happy Culture is another great option. A 10 minute walk from the stunning Sacré-Coeur Basilica and a 15 minute walk from the Moulin Rouge this is a lively and interesting place to be! £319 (£160 each) for two for three nights this stunning hotel is an absolute steal.
Paris is one of those cities where you have to be extremely careful not to get stung, especially for views and alcohol, and if you combine the two then even more so. Between 9.30am and 10pm for 18 euros you can visit the 56th floor of the Montparnasse Tower which has the undisputed best view of the Eiffel Tower. Add a glass of champagne for 12 euros and you can get the view and the bubbles for just over £25.

Helsinki

Home of the Moomin’s and birthplace of Nokia, Finland’s capital Helsinki is listed as one of the most expensive places in the world to visit on a city break deal.
But fear not! We have trawled the internet to allow you to get there and stay in style.
You can stay at the ultra stylish Scandic Paasi right in the city centre for £249 per room for 3 nights based on 2 sharing and it even has breakfast included. Always a great money saver. Or with its pool, gym facilities, central location and breakfast included, the Hotel Haaga is another great option at just £215 between 2 for a 3 night stay.
February temperatures can reach lows of -7 but rest assured that the city is well prepared. Granted you may not want to be roaming the streets for too long but there are plenty of cosy and romantic places to curl up by a fire.
Cafe Regatta is probably one of the cutest little buildings you have ever seen. In summer you can sit out by the lake but in the winter you can pop inside the cosy little building for hot chocolate and warm cinnamon buns straight from the oven. Temppeliaukio Rock Church is one of the main attractions in Helsinki. Excavated out of solid rock and bathed in natural light you really won’t want to miss this. Entry is 3 euros or free with a My Helsinki Card. As with all of these money saving cards we advise that you check the offers beforehand and really think how many of the attractions you will visit and if it will ultimately save you money.
Wanting to be in the warm you will probably be excited to try the food and drink on offer in the Finnish capital. Reindeer is a staple on many finish menus but how about sampling Finnish tapas at Juuri where you can get a 3 course meal for around £25. They also do 4/5 course tasting menus for 55/58 euros per person.
Food and drink can be extremely expensive in Helsinki so ensure you do your research before you go. There are always hidden gems and special offers so if you are prepared you’ll be sure not to double your costs.

Flying with Ryanair for £32 YES £32 return to Oslo’s main airport it seems a shame not to book this one!
Thon Hotel Terminus is extremely central, £168 for 3 nights with breakfast AND an evening meal included! That is an amazing deal! With this money saver you may not want to eat out. Oslo is an extremely expensive place for dining out but there are always deals to be had.
Oslo Mekaniskeverksted is one of the best bars in Oslo. It’s a mid price range and you can even bring your own food as long as you buy a drink.
As far as sightseeing goes, island hoping around Oslo’s Fijords is a breath-taking experience not to be missed.
